Blue Ties and Butterflies: A Night of Transformational Healing to Benefit the Child Protection Center

The Child Protection Center (CPC) invites you to join them for an unforgettable evening at the 12th Annual Blue Ties and Butterflies gala, celebrating 45 years of service in the prevention, intervention, and treatment of child abuse. This special night will take place during Child Abuse Prevention Month on Friday, April 4th, 2025 at The Ritz Carlton in Sarasota.  The program will be filled with inspiring moments and a shared commitment to supporting the transformational healing of victims of child abuse.

More than a pretty title, the event is named ‘Blue Ties and Butterflies’ to recognize the blue ribbon (a national emblem for child abuse awareness and prevention) while the transformation of the butterfly symbolizes a child abuse victim's transformational journey from victim, to survivor, to one who thrives.

“CPC serves as the chrysalis that helps these children heal, develop, and grow, providing a safe place for our clients to share their experiences and rewrite their story,” says Douglas Staley, Executive Director of the Child Protection Center. “This transformational healing is made possible because of YOU, our advocates and supporters. Your compassion and generosity are what gives the children of CPC their wings.”

Each year, the Child Protection Center responds to more than 3,200 reports of abuse and neglect across Sarasota and DeSoto counties, addressing a growing crisis in our community. The Blue Ties and Butterflies event serves as a beacon of hope for victims, offering a chance to raise vital funds for the organization’s programs and services.

“With your support, we can provide healing to survivors, offer hope to those who need it most, and continue to deliver crucial services to prevent and respond to child abuse,” Doug emphasizes. “Together, we can create a world where every child is safe, loved, and given the opportunity to thrive.”

The evening will begin with a cocktail reception to be followed with a delicious dinner, dazzling live and silent auctions, a mission moment with a survivor who resonates hope and empowerment, and the opportunity to protect the most vulnerable children of our community. The celebration will culminate in music and dancing as we rejoice in all that’s been made possible in the fight against child abuse.

This event is not only a celebration but a vital fundraiser to ensure the longevity of CPC’s mission. For 45 years, the Child Protection Center has been committed to providing a safe, nurturing environment for children in crisis and continues to set a standard for the prevention, intervention, and treatment of child abuse.
