CPC Welcomes Scott Moore

CPC Welcomes Scott Moore

The Child Protection Center (CPC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott S. Moore to its Board of Directors. Along with a longstanding personal commitment to Sarasota’s children, Scott brings more than three decades of finance and private equity leadership to further support the organization’s mission of preventing, intervening in, and treating child abuse.

Moore built his career as a business owner, entrepreneur, and private equity leader, beginning as an executive with A.G. Edwards before spending more than a decade as majority owner of Nevco, Inc., a leading manufacturer of scoreboards and sports technology. Since 2018, he has served as an Operating Partner with Dominus Capital in New York, where he focuses on middle market private equity investment, acquisitions, and growth strategy. Moore serves on the boards of several other middle market companies and has led his family’s philanthropic giving, which focuses heavily on programs serving disadvantaged children.

He also has experience serving on other nonprofit boards with a focus on improving the lives of youth. Moore holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Missouri State University and an M.B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis.

Moore and his wife, Melissa, have been longtime supporters of CPC. Their continued involvement comes at a pivotal moment for the organization as it continues to grow its capacity to serve children and families across Sarasota and DeSoto Counties.

“Scott has been part of the CPC family for years, and this is a natural next step in that relationship,” said Douglas Staley, CPC’s Executive Director. “His experience building and scaling businesses is exactly what we need at the board table right now, and we’re thrilled to welcome him.”

“I am proud to serve on the CPC board because their work directly transforms lives by ensuring our community has the tools to prevent child abuse and heal trauma. It is an investment in a safer tomorrow for our community,” said Moore.

The Child Protection Center’s (CPC) mission is the prevention, intervention, and treatment of child abuse, as the organization envisions a community where children are safe from abuse and free to thrive. For over 45 years, CPC has been serving Sarasota and DeSoto Counties in the State of Florida and is accredited by the National Children’s Alliance.
