The Venice Area Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Venice Fire Rescue Is coordinating a CPR AED Training Program for its business members.
American Heart Association's Heartsaver CPR AED is designed for anyone with little or no medical training who needs CPR AED training and a course completion card for job, regulatory (e.g. OSHA) or other requirements. This course can also be taken by anyone who wants to be prepared to act in an emergency.
This is a 2 part blended learning program with an online portion followed by a hands-on skill session.
1) Heartsaver CPR AED Online is the eLearning portion of the Heartsaver CPR AED Blended Learning Course. Online course run times range from 1 hour to 1 ½ hours based on the individual learner. Online course cost is $15 and recommended student workbook is $2.50. The link to purchase the online course will be sent separately after registration with the Chamber.
Upon completion of the online portion, you should receive a confirmation of class completion. This confirmation papermust be brought to the hands-on skills session.
2) Hands-on Skill Session on Friday, August 20th
All students must also complete a hands-on skills practical session which can be completed in about 30 minutes. This class will be taught by Venice Fire Deputy Chief Giddens on Friday, August 20th at 11am at Fire Station 3 located at 5300 E. Laurel Road.
Space is limited. There is no additional cost for the Hands-On Skill Session, but you must signup with the Venice Chamber to reserve your spot and receive the link to purchase the online course and workbook.
